Get Paramedic Garreth Thornley and family support as they face serious cancer diagnosis

Illinois’ Garreth Thornly is a contract paramedic assigned to the Addison Fire Protection District since 2019. He brings more than 20 years of experience in the fire service, having served in multiple departments and contract roles throughout his career. Recently, Garreth and his family received devastating news. He has been diagnosed with advanced intestinal cancer and has been given an estimated one to three months to live.

Send support to the family of FF/PM Evan Zibell after an unexpected loss

On the morning of April 8th, Schaumburg Fire Department’s FF/PM Evan Zibell experienced a medical emergency while off-duty, entering cardiac arrest shortly thereafter. While he was initially resuscitated thanks to the swift actions of his wife, Liz, and the Libertyville Fire Department, FF Zibell tragically passed away after treatment in the ICU.
