Relief for FF/PM Kelly Jacobson while condition leaves her unable to work
Relief for FF/PM Kelly Jacobson
A 501(c)(3) Tax-Deductible Campaign
For the past eight years, Illinois’ Kelly Jacobson has dedicated her life to serving others as a firefighter/paramedic. She has always been the person who runs toward danger when others run away, putting her community first no matter the sacrifice. Over the last month, her life changed unexpectedly when she was hospitalized three separate times after being diagnosed with pericarditis, a painful and serious inflammation surrounding the heart. What began as concerning symptoms quickly became a difficult medical battle that has left her physically exhausted, emotionally overwhelmed, and uncertain about her future.
Because of her condition, she has been unable to work. For someone who loves being a firefighter/paramedic as much as she does, facing the possibility that she may not be able to return to the career she has devoted the last eight years to has been devastating. Along with the emotional toll, the financial burden of repeated hospitalizations, treatments, medications, testing, lost income, and the possibility of traveling out of state for further care continues to grow. Let’s ease that financial stress for FF/PM Jacobson so she can focus on healing and recovery.
