Get support to FF Zachary Layton and family as he awaits heart transplant

Support for FF Zachary Layton and family

A 501(c)(3) Tax-Deductible Campaign

Mississippi’s Zachary Layton was serving as a firefighter for Harrison County Fire Service when he began to experience recurring episodes of atrial fibrillation. Over time, his cardiac condition has worsened to the point that he can no longer work in the fire service due to severe weakness and poor circulation. He has since taken up a position with the Ocean Springs School District.

This week, Zach was admitted to the emergency room and subsequently transferred to UAB, where he was diagnosed with end-stage heart failure and placed on the transplant list. Zach is a husband and father, whose wife and young daughter must now navigate this difficult time alongside him: his wife has remained by his side at the hospital, while their daughter is staying on the coast with a family member due to Zach’s stay in the ICU. Their hope now is to secure short-term housing in Birmingham so they can be together as a family while awaiting the life-saving gift of a new heart. Let’s get the Layton family some well-deserved support while they face one of the greatest challenges of their lives.
