Nathaniel Thomas had served as a firefighter with the Indianapolis Fire Department since February 2021 and was assigned to Engine 9. A dedicated public servant, he recently passed away while participating in training with the Indiana National Guard. At the time, he was at Fort Bragg completing the Q Course as part of the Special Forces qualification process.
Nathaniel was a hardworking firefighter and soldier who served both his community and his country with pride, dedication, and passion. His commitment to helping others and his unwavering sense of service left a lasting impact on those who knew and worked alongside him. He will be deeply missed by his colleagues in the Indianapolis Fire Department, his fellow service members in the United States National Guard, and the many people whose lives he touched.
