Support for Assistant Chief Walter Olenhaus and family
A 501(c)(3) Tax-Deductible Campaign
South Carolina’s Assistant Chief Walter Olenhaus has dedicated his career to serving others, and now he and his family need the help of the fire service community. Following the birth of their child, Walter’s wife developed postpartum pre-eclampsia and required hospitalization, multiple medications, and ongoing medical care. At the same time, Walter and his wife are helping care for his mother-in-law, who is wheelchair-bound following a leg amputation, while caring for their newborn. These unexpected circumstances have placed significant financial strain on the family. The Olenhaus family are facing a great struggle to keep up with household expenses, including rent, vehicle payments, infant formula, and other essential needs.
Walter’s current dispatch income is not enough to cover these expenses while he is unable to maintain his normal work schedule. After years of answering the call when others needed help, he now finds himself in need of support. Let’s rally behind Walter and his family while they fight their way through a difficult time.
