Montana’s Mike McDaniel, a Captain with the Helena Fire Department (L448) for the past 20 years, lost his home in a devastating fire on March 12, 2026. The home was a total loss, along with nearly all of the family’s belongings. Mike is a dedicated public servant and father of four adult children, one of whom was still living at home at the time of the fire.
Over the past year, Mike and his family have already faced significant challenges. He recently underwent a kidney transplant and is still recovering from serious injuries sustained in an on-duty explosion on November 7, 2024, which required multiple surgeries to his knee and hip. As Mike continues his recovery while navigating the loss of his home, let’s offer support to him and his family, helping them rebuild during this incredibly difficult time.
