On January 5th, the Detroit Fire Department lost a dedicated brother. After working a grueling overnight shift with Squad 4, Firefighter Patrick Trout returned home to his family, where he passed away suddenly. He was just 47 years old.

In the fire service, Squad 4 is known as a close family. Patrick was the heart of that unit—a man known for his service, his humor, and the "morning hugs" that started every shift. He spent 12 years protecting the citizens of Detroit, embodying the very best of our profession.

Now, he leaves behind a young family and a void that cannot be filled. While we cannot take away their pain, we can ease the financial burden that comes with such a sudden tragedy.

Please help us wrap our arms around Shannon Trout and the children. Your donation goes directly to the family to help them navigate the difficult days ahead.
