On Friday, November 14th, Pete Choukalas was doing what he always does, working a shift. When he felt lower-side tenderness, he didn't ignore it. A trip to the ER and a CT scan confirmed what looked like textbook appendicitis. He went in for surgery that evening, expecting a standard recovery and a quick return to the job he loves.

The surgery revealed something far more serious. Doctors discovered a tumor hidden in his appendix. The diagnosis is adenocarcinoma… appendiceal cancer. What was supposed to be a simple procedure has turned into the fight of his life.

Pete now faces a major battle. He is scheduled for a hemicolectomy to remove part of his colon, followed by a HIPEC procedure, which is an intensive, heated chemotherapy wash. This requires a minimum of seven days in the hospital and will keep him off the job for at least three months.

While Pete fights for his health, the bills don't stop. We need to cover him during this recovery. We are asking the community to step up and help alleviate the financial stress so Pete can focus 100% on beating this.

Please donate today. Every contribution helps Pete bridge the gap while he is out of work.
