Our brother, Ryan Taney, a dedicated Firefighter/EMT with Meherrin Volunteer Fire & Rescue, recently received a devastating Stage 3 cancer diagnosis. For years, Ryan has selflessly served Prince Edward County, always there for our community. Now, he faces the toughest fight of his life while trying to support his wife and two young children.

We are heartbroken to announce the unexpected passing of Engineer Greg Tucker, a devoted member of the Franklin Fire Department. Greg died in an off-duty motor vehicle accident on Wednesday, June 18, at the age of 49.

For over 14 years, Greg served our community with unwavering dedication.

Baby Evie arrived early at 28 weeks, a tiny but mighty girl needing round-the-clock NICU care. Her parents, Chris and Nichole Albrektson, are dedicated members of our Fire/EMS community. Chris bravely serves as a firefighter and EMR, and Nichole is a vital 911 dispatcher, firefighter, and EMT. They've always been there for us, and now they need our support.
