Former Fire Chief Pete Batton, a dedicated firefighter still actively serving, was tragically killed in an off-duty vehicle accident. While stopped to make a left turn, another vehicle rear-ended him, and he died instantly.
Chief Batton gave over 30 years of his life to protecting North Carolina, leaving behind a legacy that will inspire us for generations to come. Now, it's our turn to stand by his family.
