Tyler, TX - On October 7, 2026, FF Sam Schomp of Station 8 suffered a severe brain bleed that left him in critical condition. The following day, he underwent emergency surgery to relieve pressure on his brain and have a shunt placed. Despite the surgery, Sam remains unconscious and continues to fight for his life. At just 32 years old, he is facing a serious medical crisis. His family is now navigating an incredibly difficult and uncertain time.

Sam is a husband and father of three young children, including an eight-week-old baby. His sudden medical emergency has placed an immense emotional strain on his family as they wait for signs of recovery. With Sam still in critical condition, the road ahead remains uncertain.
