Provide some overdue relief to CFD’s FF Rob Orrico and family after cancer-related hardships

Relief for FF Robert Orrico and family

A 501(c)(3) Tax-Deductible Campaign

Chicago’s Robert Orrico is a devoted husband, father, and firefighter who has given more than 25 years of service to his community, the last twelve of which spent with CFD. In April 2024, following a major arson fire involving a large trucking company, he began experiencing severe and persistent illness that led to multiple hospitalizations. Despite intense pain in his gastrointestinal region, he continued to work every shift while seeking answers from numerous doctors and specialists.

In early 2025, Rob was diagnosed with a rare form of gastrointestinal cancer and underwent surgery in May to remove the tumors. Shortly after the procedure, he faced a series of complications that have prevented him from being medically cleared to return to duty. As of March 23rd, he is no longer on the CFD payroll, and by June 23rd, he will lose his city-assisted insurance. His application for occupational disability through the pension board was also unexpectedly denied. This has placed an immense emotional and financial strain on the Orrico family; let’s show them they are not alone in this fight by getting them some much-deserved financial relief.
