In our line of work, we answer the call without hesitation. We run toward the danger, manage the chaos, and bring calm to the storm. For years, Paramedic Emmett Thomas has been the one leading that charge—a true "monster of a medic" who has dedicated his life to serving others.

Today, our brother Emmett is facing a mayday call of his own.

Recently, Emmett was diagnosed with a massive tumor in his right lung that has wrapped around his aorta. He is facing the fight of his life, and the road ahead will be incredibly challenging.

For those who don't know Emmett, his impact on the first responder community is immeasurable. He's the veteran medic everyone respects, the mentor who kicked off more careers than we can count, and the friend who always has your back, on and off the job. He has spent his life helping, healing, and teaching others.

True to his nature, Emmett would never ask for help. He's a humble, private person who is always the first to give and the last to ask for anything in return. That's why we, his friends and colleagues, are answering the call for him. We are starting this fundraiser to ensure he doesn't have to face this battle alone.

The funds raised will go directly to Emmett to help alleviate the immense financial burden of medical treatments, lost wages, and the unexpected costs that come with a critical illness. Our goal is to remove the financial stress so he can focus all of his energy on fighting, healing, and spending precious time with his loved ones.

Emmett has spent a lifetime taking care of others. Now, it's our turn to take care of him.
