Relief for CFD’s FF/EMT Israel Martinez Sr. during his battle with cancer

Relief for FF/EMT Israel Martinez Sr.

A 501(c)(3) Tax-Deductible Campaign

CFD’s Israel Martinez Sr. has served the people of Chicago as a firefighter and EMT for more than twenty years. On November 26, 2025, he was diagnosed with throat cancer, which later metastasized to his lymph nodes. Recently, he completed his final round of radiation and chemotherapy. While this marks an important milestone, the road ahead remains long as he begins a grueling recovery process and works toward regaining a sense of normalcy.

Being out of work during this time has created significant challenges: daily expenses, the demands of recovery, and the need for proper nutrition. His son, Israel Jr, an active duty Marine, does what he can to assist his father and family in this time of need, but is constrained by his duties. So let’s work together to get a hero and his family some relief during one of the most challenging journeys life can throw at us.
