Support for FF Dan Lenihan and family

A 501(c)(3) Tax-Deductible Campaign

On March 29th, the unimaginable happened to CFD’s FF Dan Lenihan. While performing roof operations as the first-in truck company at a structure fire, FF Lenihan of Truck 27 suffered a critical medical episode. Thanks to the heroic, split-second actions of his brothers and sisters on the fire and EMS crews, Dan was rushed to the University of Chicago Medical Center, where he is currently receiving intensive care on the Neurology floor. Dan is also the bedrock of a beautiful, active family. He is the husband of Stacy, an incredibly strong and devoted wife who has remained a pillar of strength by his side. Together, they are raising three children: two daughters, ages 13 and 10, and an 8-year-old son. While the Lenihan family is remarkably resilient, the road ahead is daunting, and no family should have to navigate this journey alone.

Dan’s life has always been defined by hard work and service. In addition to his role with the Chicago Fire Department, he is a licensed electrician and has long been the primary provider for his family. However, due to the severity of his condition and the extensive rehabilitation ahead, Dan will be unable to return to either of his professions for the foreseeable future. This loss of income places a significant financial burden on the family during an already unthinkable time. Even the strongest among us need the support of their community in moments like these, so let’s come together to show them love and kindness as well as financial relief while they need it most.
