Odessa, TX Firefighter/Paramedic Eric Handlin, a 25-year veteran, was found unconscious but breathing at Firehouse 8 during the early morning hours of August 21, 2026. It appears that he fell and suffered a serious head injury sometime during the night. His crew immediately transported him to the emergency room, where he received urgent medical care and underwent extensive surgery. Despite all efforts, he tragically would later succumb to his injuries.
Eric dedicated over 25 years of his life to protecting and helping others in his community. Now, let’s do the same for his family and come together to provide some relief while they endure the financial and emotional stresses that come with such a tragic loss.
