Captain Matt Conner is a military veteran and has served with Jacksonville Fire and Rescue for 20 years. He is also a devoted father to two young boys. Recently, Matt sought medical attention for back and hip pain, but further testing revealed abnormalities in his blood work. After being admitted to the hospital and undergoing a bone marrow biopsy, he received the devastating news that he had been diagnosed with leukemia. He is currently hospitalized and undergoing his first round of treatment.
Unfortunately, workers' compensation has denied Matt's claim, leaving him responsible for the costs of his medical treatments and medications. As he begins this difficult fight against cancer, he faces the added burden of managing these unexpected expenses.
