Provide relief for CFD’s Walter Rochet and family against their many financial hardships

Relief for FF Walter Rochet and family

A 501(c)(3) Tax-Deductible Campaign

Walter Rochet is a dedicated Chicago firefighter and father of four who is currently facing significant financial hardship. Over the past year, he has been navigating a difficult divorce while continuing to provide for his children and fulfill his responsibilities both at home and in service to the City of Chicago. Like many families, he has been deeply affected by the rising cost of living, as mortgage payments, utilities, groceries, insurance, fuel, and other essential expenses have increased substantially. Despite working diligently and exhausting available resources, including an emergency withdrawal from his deferred compensation account, he now faces foreclosure on his home and remains approximately $13,000 short of the amount needed to bring his mortgage current and stop the foreclosure process. His greatest concern is maintaining stability for his children during an already challenging period in their lives, as losing their home would create additional emotional and financial hardship for the entire family.

Walter began his career with the Chicago Fire Department in March, 2019, and has proudly served the citizens of Chicago ever since. He spent his first two years assigned to Engine 29 in Bridgeport before transferring to Truck 4 in Chinatown, where he served for five years on one of the busiest companies in the city. Most recently, he transferred to Truck 9 on Chicago’s Northwest Side, where he currently serves. Throughout his career, he has been recognized for his dedication and service with a Company Commendation Award, the Coronavirus Award, and two ROSC Awards. Walter takes great pride in being a civil servant and helping others in their time of need. Let’s come together to help prevent foreclosure, keep a roof over his children's heads, and preserve the home his family has built together.
