Chicago, IL - Firefighter and Paramedic Jennifer Karaboyas has served with the Chicago Fire Department for the past 22 years. Her husband is a Chicago police officer, and together they have two young children. In December 2025, Jennifer suffered a fall that resulted in a fractured femur. Following her injury, she was diagnosed with stage IV breast cancer that had spread to her bones. Despite her terminal diagnosis, Jennifer has begun an experimental treatment that is showing promising results and offering renewed hope.

Jennifer continues to fight for her life while undergoing treatment and spending time with her family. Although the new medication has shown positive results, it comes at a significant financial cost. At $17,000 per month, the treatment has placed an overwhelming burden on Jennifer and her loved ones. Let’s get some support to the Karaboyas family as they fight alongside her.
