In Loving Memory of Cheri Holmes: Giving Back to Those Who Support Our Own.
A final act of service in her name to ensure no brother or sister fights alone.
Our Sister, Our Hero: Cheri Holmes
For 22 years, Firefighter Cheri Holmes served the city of Chicago with courage and dedication. She was a sister on the job, a friend to all, and a pillar of strength within the Chicago Fire Department.
When Cheri faced her toughest battle with breast cancer, our firefighter family did what we always do: we rallied. In her time of need, you answered the mayday call, stepping up in a huge way to raise an incredible $30,000 for her out-of-pocket medical treatments. That support gave Cheri and her family priceless time and hope.
Returning the Favor: Cheri's Wish
On October 20th, our sister Cheri Holmes answered her final alarm. The love and support she felt from her CFD family and The Yard Foundation never left her.
Cheri and her family wished to pay that kindness forward. In her memory, we are launching this campaign to give back to The Yard Foundation. Our goal is to replenish the fund so they can immediately help the next brother or sister firefighter who faces a crisis.
Your Donation Carries on Her Legacy
Your contribution isn't just a donation; it’s a statement. It says that we look after our own. It ensures that the spirit of brotherhood and sisterhood that supported Cheri continues to thrive.
Every dollar you give helps The Yard Foundation provide critical financial assistance for medical bills, family emergencies, and other unforeseen hardships. You are honoring Cheri’s memory by ensuring the next firefighter facing a crisis receives the same unwavering support she did.
Join us in celebrating a life of service by giving back.
